Holly Hendry (b. London, 1990) presents an entirely new body of work for her first solo exhibition in a UK arts institution.
shot him in the face
American artist Adam Pendleton’s exhibition titled shot him in the face occupies the Ground Floor gallery at BALTIC with one large-scale gesture—a wall that diagonally cuts across the exhibition space.
Away with the Birds
Hanna Tuulikki's work, Away with the Birds, can be found on Level 2. The work explores the mimesis and representation of birds in Scottish Gaelic song. The composition, visual score and suite of habitat drawings are presented here, highlighting BALTIC's connection to bird life and the annual Kittiwake colony found nesting on BALTIC's north wall.
The four recipients of the inaugural BALTIC Artists’ Award 2017 are Jose Dávila, Eric N. Mack, Toni Schmale and Shen Xin. As recipients of the award, they each receive a 13-week exhibition at BALTIC, now open on Level 3 and 4, £25,000 to create new work and a £5,000 artist fee. This major new international award is the first worldwide art award to be judged solely by artists.
