Play Makers Exhibition

Thursday 21 July - Tuesday 30 August 2016

A celebration of play by North East schools.

This exhibition presented our region’s ideas for the perfect Play Maker; a person, space or invention that encourages play, imagination, fun and learning.

Play Makers was inspired by BALTIC’s Level 4 exhibition, The Playground Project, and presented in partnership with Infinite Playgrounds.

Infinite Playgrounds Creative Director, Sam McGeever together with BALTIC Director, Sarah Munro, selected one Play Maker entry to receive an outdoor oak branch den with coloured disc windows and a tufting workshop for their school. Congratulations to The Drive Community Primary School, Gateshead!

BALTIC would like to thank Infinite Playgrounds for their support, generosity and collaboration in Play Makers.

BALTIC would like to thank all of the contributing Play Maker artists from the following schools:
Denbigh Community Primary School, Wallsend
Jesmond Nursery, Newcastle
Prudhoe Castle First School, Prudhoe
The Dales School, Blyth
The Drive Community Primary School, Gateshead
